Marlene is an associate director for state government affairs for Merck and Company. She has worked on public policy and product access in five Southern states. She is the chair of Tennessee’s PhRMA state legislative task force. Before joining Merck, Marlene worked as a public affairs liaison for Eli Lilly and Company and as an associate with government-relations firm Smith Johnson & Carr.
Marlene is an active member of the Nashville community, where she has served as a board member of the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Greater Nashville, Nashville Cares, Better Decisions and Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee. She is a member of the Women’s Political Collaborative, the MTSU Friends of Liberal Arts, and the Nashville Women’s Breakfast Club where she serves as vice chair for membership.
