Mariana Rodríguez joined ThinkTennessee as Policy and Research Director in April 2018.
She previously worked as a research analyst for the Latin American Public Opinion Project (LAPOP) at Vanderbilt University, where she managed research projects on democratic political culture in Latin America. During her time at LAPOP, she also worked in close partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to conduct studies to inform the agency’s democratic governance policies and programs in the Latin American region.
Mariana graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in international studies and political science. She received her doctorate in political science from Vanderbilt University in 2013. She is originally from Caracas, Venezuela but has called Nashville home for 10 years.
