Alex Brown joined ThinkTennessee as Policy Associate in July 2023, where she provides research and analysis for the organization’s Strengthening Democracy initiatives.
Previously, Alex worked as a corporate lawyer at Rockridge Venture Law, a B Corp law firm based in Chattanooga. While there, she helped businesses form and stay compliant with changing regulations, specializing in working with mission-driven companies.
Alex earned her law degree from Belmont University College of Law in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was an editor of the Belmont Law Review and was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Environmental Law and the Pro Bono Service Award for free legal services during law school. She also served as a law clerk for ThinkTennessee and the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC). She previously earned her Bachelor’s in Political Science from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee.
When not working to ensure that all Tennesseans are civically engaged and economically secure, chances are you’ll find Alex reading at a local coffee shop, hiking, and traveling.
