Purpose: The Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC) aims to revitalize the Memphis Medical District by promoting economic development, enhancing public spaces, building community wealth, and encouraging equitable growth.

Process: Established in 2016, MMDC works to create a vibrant, inclusive, and prosperous district where residents, businesses, and institutions can thrive together. MMDC strategically partners with anchor institutions and stakeholders in the community to invest in the economic and cultural potential of the District.
Outcomes:
- Over the first five years, MMDC increased local spend by $103M and leveraged over $300M in private sector real estate investments through total investments of $15.8M.
- 42 new businesses have opened in the District, with $1.2 million in real estate and business support grants disbursed and over $2 million in total grants
