ThinkTN in the News: Hey Nashville: Here’s how many hours you’ll sit in traffic this year (but there’s good news, too)

NASHVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL (March 1, 2018) – You’re going to spend 33 hours in your car this year sitting in traffic, Nashvillians.

That’s according to a new study, which found that Nashville is the 27th most-congested city in the United States.

Those 33 hours also translate into a cost in lost time to drivers of $1,469 apiece, and costs the city an estimated $1.2 billion a year in direct and indirect costs associated with those delays, according to a study by Kirkland, Washington-based Inrix. Inrix is best known for its traffic app.

Using Inrix’s data, local think tank ThinkTennessee found traffic costs Tennessee’s four-largest cities nearly $1.8 billion annually.
