Former Tennessee Attorney General Bob Cooper is a member of the Compliance & Government Investigations Practice Group in the Nashville office of Bass Berry & Sims. Bob returned to private practice in 2015 after 12 years of public service. He was Attorney General from 2006 to 2014 and served as legal counsel to Governor Phil Bredesen from 2003 to 2006. He chaired the Southern Region of the National Association of Attorneys General in 2012-2013.
A Chattanooga native, Bob served as a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates and the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners. He chaired the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s Charter Revision Commission. He was president of the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands and teaches Campaign Finance and Elections at Vanderbilt Law School.
