We’re co-sponsoring a gubernatorial forum!

NASHVILLE (Oct. 23, 2017) – ThinkTennessee will co-sponsor a forum with announced candidates for governor of Tennessee on February 1, 2018, the one-year anniversary of the organization’s launch. The forum will take place at the Nashville Public Library, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., as part of the Tennessee Press Association’s Winter Convention.

“Whether through our research, community engagement or advocacy efforts, ThinkTennessee is committed to an ongoing dialogue about how best to move our state forward,” said Bob Cooper, ThinkTennessee board chairman. “Our next governor has the opportunity to positively impact the lives of millions through his or her policy agenda, and we’re proud to be part of an event that gives Tennesseans the opportunity to hear candidates’ plans firsthand.”

The forum has received commitments from Democratic candidates Karl Dean, former mayor of Nashville, and Rep. Craig Fitzhugh, Tennessee House minority leader, and Republican candidates Mae Beavers, former state senator, Randy Boyd, former Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, Rep. Beth Harwell, speaker of the House, and businessman Bill Lee.

Other co-sponsors of the event include the Nashville Public Library, the Beacon Center of Tennessee and the League of Women Voters of Tennessee.
